About Alvord Hot Springs

Perched on the edge of the vast Alvord Desert playa in Oregon's remote southeast corner, these springs offer some of the most dramatic soaking scenery in the American West. The 170°F source water is cooled in two corrugated-steel stock tank tubs with panoramic views across the shimmering white alkali flat to Steens Mountain. Stargazing from the tubs on clear nights is otherworldly, with virtually zero light pollution.
